Key Responsibilities
Ability to read and work from shop/production drawings, blueprints, and welding process specification.
Be proficient in knowledge and use of fabrication techniques involved in the fabrication and manufacture of custom machinery and projects.
Proficiency in the use of all fabrication hand tools, including drills, grinders, cutting tools, squares, levels, etc.
Proficiency in the use of handheld oxygen/acetylene torches, plasma cutter, and drilling and tapping operations.
Fit and prepare jigs for welding components.
Fitting experience considered an asset.
Strong abilities to take ownership, learn, proactively plan their work and time, and stick to an established schedule.
To work safely with others in a production shop environment.
Must be able to work out of town frequently when needed for service calls.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 – 5 years of welding / fabricating experience preferred, preferably in a construction environment.
Alberta Journeyman or Journeyman Red Seal Welding Ticket required.
Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
Must comply with Drug and Alcohol testing requirements.
Prior experience working within a paving company is a definite asset.
Ability to work overtime as required.
