Job Purpose

The End Welder shall operate in the functions of welding metal slitted material in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

? Responsible for the setup and operation of mill entry, Flatteners, End Welder Machine and Accumulator.

? Responsible for cross weld quality

? Responsible for coil edge condition.

? Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.

? Operation Monitoring – Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

? Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed.

? Handling and Moving Objects – Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

? Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

? Responsible for performing routine PM of equipment.

? Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.

? Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Competencies

? Education:
o High School Diploma or GED.

? Years of Experience:
o 1 year experience in welding.

? Job Knowledge:
o At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe industry is preferable.

o Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

o Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.

o Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and welding operation.

o Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

? Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

? Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.

? The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.

? The ability to respond quickly to sounds.

? The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

? The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.

? The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.

? The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.

? Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.

? Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
