Overview

Entry level position to assist and maintain construction of custom homes, fences, gates, and operation of heavy machinery.
Job Purpose

To work as a team to layout, fabricate, weld and finish the metal fences, handrails, gates, and other custom metal work for residences, commercial construction, farms and ranches. Duties & Responsibilities Proactive in determining equipment, materials and tool requirements to complete tasks Organize and maintain work area to achieve safe, clean and efficient operations Projects may include: cut, layout, clamp, tack and weld metal pipe/tubing/panel/etc. for fabrication, using a chop saw, band saw, or oxyacetylene torch, and a mig-welder Assist with the installation of steel buildings, fence, handrails and gates and other misc. metal work Operate skid steer as necessary, primarily for the use of loading/unloading materials and drilling post holes Qualifications Qualifications include: High School Diploma or GED Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to read a tape measure and basic hand-held measuring tools Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow work instructions Strong work ethic, good attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work independently or as a team Occasional out-of-town travel may be required Must have two valid forms of identification, including a valid driver’s license -Must be able to pass a drug test when required- Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Frequently lifting 50 to 100 lbs. Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, gas and/or fumes Frequent holding and grasping with the hands when handling tools and equipment Position requires bending, pushing, pulling and lifting Occasionally will work on ladders, lifts, and at heights Compensation & Benefits $16.00-$22.00 per hour depending on level of skill, knowledge and experience Paid Holidays Paid-Time-Off (PTO) Direct Deposit Payroll Overtime Available Paid Training
