Job Description

As a Welder, you are responsible for ensuring boats are welded in a safe and efficient manner to meet production deadlines. Welders will utilize fabrication skills and techniques to build the boats to specification. Welders will work closely with the production team for the delivery in achieving optimum throughput while maintaining quality and superior workmanship systems and standards.

What will you do?

MIG/TIG production line welding and hull construction;

Fabrication includes fitting of pre-formed parts;

Preparation of components for welding and maintenance;

Sub-assembly of parts;

Ensure work area is kept clean and organized to reduce or remove hazards;

Follow all applicable KingFisher Boats and WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety regulations.

What do you need to succeed?

No experience needed – all training will be provided in-house;

Apprenticeship opportunities;

Interested in a career in welding/fabricating.

Working Conditions

Regular periods during which there is continuous physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward;

Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort, high noise levels;

Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing or seeing to work being performed;

Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists.

Schedule Options:
Day Shift – Monday to Friday – 4:45 am to 1:15 pm

Afternoon Shift – Monday to Thursday – 1:30 pm to 12:00 am
