Overview

Eaton’s Vehicle Group North America is currently seeking a EPWC Welder to join our Weekend Night Shift team. This position is based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility. Pay rate ranges from $21.42/hour – $26.18/hour.

This is a direct, full-time position that offers full benefits the day you start.

Position Overview:
Safely operate multiple welding robots to properly time (when needed), press, and weld assemblies in preparation for the HD (heavy duty) transmission assembly process. Monitor, maintain and track performance of weld cell during operation. Escalate issues when needed to minimize production downtime and quality issues. Includes but is not limited to: APWC (Automated Press and Weld Cell); Endurant Automated Weld Cell; Yoke Weld; Double Aux Weld; Aux Countershaft Weld; and other weld cells as assigned.

In this function you will:
Operate weld cells – Conduct daily startup inspection of cell, load parts into pallet, check parts per the Control Plan. Includes being cross-trained and able to run all weld cells as assigned

Monitor Quality – Measure and track production results in Infinity; submit weld cut parts for sectioning as dictated by the Control Plan.

Perform set-ups/change overs – Make tooling changes and adjust machine settings to accommodate a changeover.

Perform basic machine maintenance – Includes timing adjustments, maintain fluid levels in washers. High level vision system understanding; torch tip changes.

Perform wire and gas changes – Properly change wire or welding gas when needed.

Operate Robotics/Automation – Operate robot via teach pendant when needed after properly locking cell for safe entry.

Track inventory/transactions – Utilize FCS (Forklift Communication System) to call in parts to support further production. Monitor outbound flow of parts and track on hour-by-hour board and production report.

Oversee hour-by-hour production and escalate issues – Initial troubleshooter for production issues. Escalate when further help is needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Kings Mountain, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Minimum 1 year experience in an Assembly, Manufacturing, Welding or related production environment

Open and available for Overtime on short notice

Preferred Qualifications:
HD Truck transmission knowledge

Prior leadership experience

History of strong performance in prior roles,

Bachelor/associate degree and/or willingness to obtain degree,

Broad assembly or manufacturing knowledge

Good interpersonal and presentation skills

Efficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Oracle

Knowledge of lean tools

Blueprint interpretation skills Gauging experience.

Position Criteria:
Able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis

Able to stand for up to 8 hours, with scheduled breaks

Handling of hot parts, exposure to heavy lifting in some cases (up to 35 lbs. frequently (per assembly)) and requires a critical thinking and self-management in a complex environment.
