Overview

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to work on all aspects of production from start to finish
  • Effectively manage a small shift of welders/fabricators
  • Find new ways or process to complete the jobs in a more efficient manner
  • Supervise the shift in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of all welding processes: GMAW, SMAW, MCAW, FCAW
  • Knowledge of fabrication equipment and various other tools/equipment: hand tools, shears, drill press, pedestal grinders, etc.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Complete work for custom fabrication and structural construction
  • Follow all assigned drawings and instructions
  • Conduct all work in a safe and orderly manner
  • Assembly of equipment and full rig packages

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Fabrication skills
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Experience in MCAW
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, designs, and welding process specifications
  • Possesses organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn
  • Experience leading a team
  • Prior experience in a shop environment with an understanding of operations
  • Must be able to take direction and work efficiently in a fast pace work environment
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s Licence

Education and Experience:

  • Registered Apprentice and/or ticketed Journeymen
  • Experience leading a team or experience in a Supervisor Role
