Overview
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to work on all aspects of production from start to finish
- Effectively manage a small shift of welders/fabricators
- Find new ways or process to complete the jobs in a more efficient manner
- Supervise the shift in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Knowledge of all welding processes: GMAW, SMAW, MCAW, FCAW
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment and various other tools/equipment: hand tools, shears, drill press, pedestal grinders, etc.
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
- Complete work for custom fabrication and structural construction
- Follow all assigned drawings and instructions
- Conduct all work in a safe and orderly manner
- Assembly of equipment and full rig packages
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Fabrication skills
- Blueprint reading skills
- Experience in MCAW
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, designs, and welding process specifications
- Possesses organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn
- Experience leading a team
- Prior experience in a shop environment with an understanding of operations
- Must be able to take direction and work efficiently in a fast pace work environment
- Must hold a valid Driver’s Licence
Education and Experience:
- Registered Apprentice and/or ticketed Journeymen
- Experience leading a team or experience in a Supervisor Role
