We are looking for a self starter, someone willing to learn new things, someone who takes pride in their work.

Aluminum/Stainless/Mild Steel MIG/TIG/STICK welder/fabricator/pipe fitter

NEEDED FOR IMMEDIATE POSITION.
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
MUST BE ABLE TO DO BOTH MIG AND TIG

Able to follow directions well and work independently.
English is required.

Summary:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with 11-20 gauge sheet metal materials. You will be able to determine overall size of material during lay out processes for shearing, forming and welding. Common welding processes include but are not limited to GTAW and GMAW with material thicknesses of .032” to .500”. In addition to sheet fabrication, experience with mill and lathe machining and pipe bending experience will be taken into consideration. A large portion of our work must pass stringent customer approval which requires care through out the entire process until completion. Our work spread consists of 60% aluminum, 30% stainless steel, 5% mild steel, 5% brass, copper and other materials. Final finish may include but not limited to, linear or radial brushed aluminum for anodizing, linear or radial brushed stainless steel, smooth sanded aluminum prepared for powder coat or electrostatic paint, patina brass and blackened steel. Knowledge of proper equipment use and maintenance is expected, minimal training is available to assist in completing challenging processes.

Education and Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Professional Skills:
– Minimum of 1 year of hands on experience working in a sheet metal shop.
– Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
– Able to deal with problems in a situation with constraints.
-Function as a member of a customer-driven team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been achieved.
– Be accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around project outcomes.
– Maintain adequate levels of performance and motivation despite job tasks that are routine, repetitive, and/or non-stimulating.
– Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directives.
– Ability to work well under pressure, adhere to deadlines and be flexible.
– Fluent English, reading and writing, bilingual a plus.
– Fork Lift Operation

Fabrication Skills:
– Should be able to take a drawing into fabrication and create a good part without assistance.
– Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
– Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers.
– Able to work from blueprint, sketch, template, or sample to produce finished part.
– Experience in machine setup and operation of press brake, shear, and punch.
– Can use all secondary equipment such as drill press, rolls, notcher and deburring equipment.
– Capable of working with in 116th” tolerance on sheet metal and .020” tolerance on the mill and lathe.
– Able to discern common dimensions and sizes of drills, bolts and nuts.
– Identify machine screw dimensions and select proper drills and taps to create threads.
– Selects proper punch and die tooling for press brake and press punch operation.
– Makes adjustments as needed.
– Set-up and adjust brake press to perform a wide variety of operations.
– Use efficient and proper methods to grind welds into flat and polished surfaces.

Welding Skills:
– Determines gas type, nozzle size, and lens based on material type and thickness for TIG and MIG processes.
-Properly prepare all joints for welding depending on circumstance of full or minimal penetration.
– Able to pass a 1G welding test qualified by a bend test in stainless steel, mild steel or aluminum in thickness .0625”-.500”
– Preferably able to weld in all positions.
– Proper setup of leads and optimization of weld balance settings according to tungsten diameter.

Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

$18-25 per hour, Full Time, Days & Hour Vary. Additional compensation may be available based on abilities and productivity.
