Immediate opening for an experienced Shear Operator, Tig Welder & Sheet Metal Mechanic for Precision Sheet Metal Shop

Position Overview: Sets-up, adjusts, and safely operates sheet metal fabricating equipment such as: press brakes, shears and hardware press. Reads and interprets blueprints to determine the safest and most efficient way for the operator to perform the job, and sets up the machinery to produce quality parts. Makes all necessary machine adjustments required to guarantee the parts are dimensionally within tolerance.

Looking for Tig Welder: Tig Welder position available from 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with overtime as needed. Must have experience with Aluminum, Stainless and Carbon steel w/ thicknesses ranging from .050-.250 aluminum. Welding experience with light gauge material a must. Ability to accurately read and interpret shop detail drawings and hold required tolerances.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform loading and unloading of sheet metal. Change tools and select required machine programs that ensure the quality and productivity.
  • Work safely utilizing proper protective equipment and follow all safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Follow all inventory control procedures and additional paperwork as required.
  • Learn other appropriate job functions and serve as back up when required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience on a shear, press brake or similar machine in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to accurately use and read tape measure, calipers and others as required.
  • Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and when in doubt “Stop & Ask”.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive work.
  • Standing, bending, stooping.
  • Several large, loud machines operating at once.
  • Non-air-conditioned shop, temperature conditions like the outdoors, proper ventilation exists.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $24.00 per hour
