Fabmar Metals Inc. is looking for a Full-Time Permanent Experienced / Structural Steel Plate Fitter

Structural Fitter Duties and Responsibilities:

Read Blueprints, Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

Cut and Shape Metal, Must be able to use torches and tools to cut and shape metal pieces.

Install Pieces, Install and align metal parts by hand and by using various tools.

Lift Metal, Lift metal pieces into place using hoists and cranes.

Weld Metal, Must be able to weld metal pieces together using proper tools and safety equipment.

Design Molds, Experience with design molds to create metal parts to specifications would be an asset

Pipe Fitting, Experience with pipe fitting would be an asset

Occupational Health & Safety, Must adhere to all Federal and Provincial health & safety codes and procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

Measuring, take accurate, precise measurements of materials and to follow schematics and blueprints

Mathematics, translate blueprints into physical metal pieces that can be used to build structures

Attention to detail, attention to detail to follow precise plans and assemble structures as designed

Mechanical ability, use mechanical skills to work with various tools and equipment

Analytical thinking, use analytical skills to interpret blueprints and construct structures as designed on paper

Communication skills, work in a collaborative team environment that requires good verbal and written communication skills

Experience with the following tools and equipment:

Hand tools (levels, plumb bobs)

Power tools (grinders, jacks)

Welding tools (torches, aprons, face masks)

Measuring tools (measuring tapes, rulers, squares)

Lifting tools (hoists, cranes, cables)

Press brake

Plate shear

Plate rolls

This full time position may require overtime and weekend work, looking for someone with the above skill set. Applicants with supervisory experience would be an asset.
