Who we are:

Custom group of companies is a cohort of steam and thermal engineering experts with many years of on-field experience in system analytics. Our partners come from a background with varied industry verticals with extensive geographical experience. We are Certified Energy Managers who are affiliated with Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and Association of Energy Engineers. Manufactured System is our fabrication branch and Custom steam solutions Inc is our Engineering and Automation branch. Our head office is in Cambridge Ontario. Currently we are looking for welders to join our team in our fabrication branch (Custom Manufactured Systems). Custom Manufactured Systems is TSSA and ASME approved shop and all our welders are registered with TSSA. We manufacture different pressure vessels, vented tank both in carbon steel and stainless steel. Some of our pressure vessel are designed for food/ pharmaceutical industry and are made of process piping material.

Experienced Welder/ Fabricator/ Fitter/ Orbital

Job Responsibility and Requirements:

  • Read and interpret drawings, weld symbols and readings
  • Welder/ Fitter experience 5-6 years minimum required, Red seal is an asset but not required
  • Experience welding GTAW (TIG)
  • Experience welding GMAW (MIG)
  • Experience with Orbital welder is a must
  • Experience with Process piping using TIG, Orbital welder, vessel fabrication both in Stainless and carbon. Process piping experience is a must.
  • Experience working with TSSA inspectors to get pressure vessels inspected is an asset
  • Understand and follow different weld procedures provided
  • Pass weld test for different weld procedure, training will be provided if required
  • Ability to fit up vessel or piping and layout as per the drawings provided.
  • Knowledge of working with drive rollers and positioners to weld pressure components
  • Ability to use pneumatic tools, grinders, oxy-acetylene torches and plasma cutters
  • Able to work under little supervision, well disciplined, good attendance record
  • Work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Work well in a team atmosphere
  • Able to set manual and semi auto welding machines
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Some travel to onsite required
  • Have a valid driver license in good standing
  • Wages are negotiable depending on the performance during the weld test.

  • Welding school diploma required or 1-2 year of welding experience required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, weld symbols and readings
  • Experience welding GTAW (TIG) an asset but not required
  • Experience welding GMAW (MIG) an asset but not required
  • Experience with stick welding
  • Understand and follow different weld procedures provided
  • Pass weld test for different weld procedure, training will be provided if required
  • Ability to fit up vessel or piping and layout as per the drawings provided, proper training will be provided
  • Knowledge of working with drive rollers and positioners to weld pressure components is an asset but not required
  • Ability to use pneumatic tools, grinders, oxy-acetylene torches and plasma cutters
