Overview

There is an immediate opening for an experienced Welding Inspector at AWC Manufacturing’s Guelph plant. Those who apply must have previous experience with heavy welds with tight tolerances such as mining equipment. This is a full- time position – please see below for job duties and requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections, machining inspections and weld inspections
  • Operate portable CMM equipment and complete reports
  • Complete quality documentation as required
  • Work with team members to troubleshoot errors throughout build
  • Conduct source inspections & in-house inspections on critical jobs as required
  • Accumulate non-conformance information in a timely manner to produce monthly reports and assist in the implementation of remedial actions and timely closure of Defect Notice

Qualifications

  • Portable CMM equipment experience (FARO equipment an asset)
  • CWB/AWC/ASME Level 1 Inspector Certification an asset
  • Quality related courses/certificates
  • Understanding of statistical processes
  • Blueprint Reading
  • Knowledge of Excel/Visual/Access/Word/Autocad/Solidworks
  • Previous experience as a welder required
