FABRICATION AND PAINTSHOP ASSISTANT

We are seeking A hardworking and reliable individual to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position with a 40-hour work week, offering opportunities for advancement and company-funded tuition for schooling and apprenticeships. The work schedule is a 4-day week, with afternoon shift hours 3:30pm – 1:00am Monday to Thursday. Wages are based on prior work experience, ability, and trades training. Full benefits are available after 90 days of employment.

Job duties will include:

  • Working on fabricated parts using hand tools and grinders
  • Maintaining clean work areas.
  • Material handling including forklift and overhead crane operation (certification is an asset, but not required as we will provide training)

Skills required:

  • Sandblasting and industrial painting experienced using enamels and epoxy paints.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and powered tools.
  • Reliability, organization, and ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Steel-toed CSA approved work boots
  • Reliable transportation
  • Good safety record
  • High school diploma preferred, but apprentice trades training is a definite asset
  • Interest in building a career with Axton
