Overview

Job Summary:
In the role of Manufactured Spares/Fabrication Coordinator you will report to Fabrication Manager and will be responsible for planning and coordination of all aspects of manufactured spares/fabrication activities. Including but not limited to: expediting components/materials, establishing timelines and communicating to internal customers/departments, foreseeing possible problems and finding solution or alternatives that satisfactorily meet required specification of work. The split of work between manufacture spare versus fabrication coordinating could vary pending order intake; it would be estimated 50/50 roughly of time dedicated to each area.

Primary Responsibilities:
Take the primary coordinator role on manufactured spares orders once the hand-off has occurred from the spare parts representative. Including details of scope, timeline, and cost estimate.

Coordinate with various departments (Fabrication, Purchasing, Paint, Assembly, Service, and Spare Parts Sales) to ensure work completion is per plan

With Manufactured Spares – review job material needs and submit required purchase requisition, monitor shortages and potential impact to delivery

Coordinate job pick lists with warehousing group as required and communicate shipping requirements/locations

Report/communicate with internal customers, vendors, staff, and management, including status, issues, identifying changes if applicable, and corresponding solutions and action plans.

Release drawings accordingly for fabrication process; including job paperwork report and any special instructions

Responsible to monitor the progress of each on-going project; and update fabrication list for each project/manufactured spare order on a weekly basis.

Review hours burned on each project and monitor again budget (capital project and/or manufactured spare estimate)

Oversee/manage small projects as assigned

Coordinate sending fabricated parts for 3rd party services such as machining, heat treating, hydro testing, etc.

Upon Manufacture Spare Job Completion

Verify issued materials and communicate requirements with purchasing/warehousing

Ensure all hours have been allocated and review for any mistakes; coordinate appropriate corrections

Unless review by sales is necessary – proceed to complete the job order, ship the order, print packing slip, and provide proof of shipment to sales assistant for invoicing.

Coordinate and review with Fabrication Manager weekly and monthly priorities.

Communicate fabrication priorities, follow up that they’re being observed and followed at shop floor

Involved with coordinating shipment of fabricated parts to assembly and/or paint shop.

Assist Fabrication Manager with day to day task including decision making in the fabrication shop.

Demonstrate the capability to work independently on complex and multiple tasks and help resolved fabrication issues.

Participate in developing department policies and procedures. Work towards continuous improvement activities.

Familiarize yourself with operational controls such as safe working practices and job hazard analysis as appropriate to specific work tasks. Assistance with development, promotion and review of these processes and documentation could be required.

Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements.

Qualification Requirement:
High School Diploma or GED required

A firm understanding of both computer hardware and software (including MS Office Excel and Word)

Understanding of blueprints, fabrication and raw materials beneficial

Good communication skills.

Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments
