Fabrication Journeyman Welder

Central Air Equipment (Fab) Ltd. is currently searching for a Journeyman Welder to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in a fabrication facility building turnkey packages.

This position will report to the Fabrication Manager and Welding Supervisor and will involve working with management, shop floor personnel and engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Work with other trades to build and assemble turnkey packages

· Fit, assemble and weld structural material

· Read and interpret drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

· Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

· Inspect welds and repair when necessary (self-quality check)

· Assist in installation of equipment and mechanically assembled (threaded) pressure piping

· Perform all work in compliance with established safety procedures and codes

Qualifications:

· Journeyman certificate

· Valid CWB certification (FCAW/MCAW all positions) and (SMAW all positions)

· Strong mechanical understanding

· Strong communication skills

· Willing to work as part of a team

· Able to interpret engineered drawings

· Experience in mechanically assembled pipe considered an asset

· Millwright experience considered an asset

The position is full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, with overtime as required. Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
