Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager you will be responsible for supervising, coordinating and scheduling all fabrication employees. You may also perform some fabrication work. We offer competitive wages and benefits.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who machine, drill, or form materials to drawing specifications.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
  • Requisition materials and supplies
  • Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
  • Train or arrange for training of workers
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, firing, and promotions
  • Provide performance evaluations to employees
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed
  • Prepare production and other reports
  • May set up machines and equipment and write programs for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school, or equivalent
  • Three (3) or more years of directly related experience
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to interpret and understand Engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
  • Capable of using Microsoft programs like MS Word and Excel.
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Knowledge of operating related machinery (ex. CNC)
  • Knowledge of tooling and their proper use
  • Knowledge of hardware and sizes of hardware
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of sustained physical effort

  • Metal fabrication: 3 years (preferred)
