As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Exhaust is seeking an eager and enthusiastic experienced Fabrication Scheduler to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.
Purpose of Position: To support the planning, prioritization, and scheduling and to help control the activities in the operations of the Stamping, Fabrication and Tube Cell department.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the department to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet and exceed production targets.
  • Develop schedules and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products. Including the scheduling of work centres across responsible departments.
  • To comply with systems, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operation of production activities.
  • Communication and coordination with all other departments and vendors with regards to scheduling and operations/production related issues.
  • Distribute reports to ensure that work centres are scheduled to meet the build plan requirements.
  • Develop contingency plans for any orders tracking behind to production schedule to ensure on-time-delivery
  • Liaise with Operations Managers to update order progress details.
  • Contribute to review/update of part lead times to reduce WIP and reduce cycle time.
  • Responsible to identify alternate scheduling opportunities that will enhance product throughput and reduce inventory and cycle time.
  • Completion of daily report out metrics as defined by Management
  • Coordination and prioritization of all production, prototype, pilot, and launch orders through Fabrication.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirement:

  • Relevant post-secondary education

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years similar experience in a manufacturing environment; metal fabrication preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and perseverant, well organized and diligent.
  • Experience in production planning, ordering and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of MRP environment. Previous Syspro experience a definite asset.
  • Ability to manage priorities and time without constant supervision.
  • Solid understanding of accepted scheduling principles and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and mathematical skills.
  • Must be fluent in English (written/verbal).
