What you will be doing?
The Fabrication Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the shop employees and ensuring that the job process is running smoothly and efficiently. This position includes the coordination of shop employees, vendors, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.
Responsible for attending pre-job planning meetings, inspecting work area, providing work execution plan assistance, coordinate inventory personnel for required materials, and complete and delegate work scope tasks for work quality and efficiency. The Fabrication Shop Manager will also be responsible for managing projects specific to costs, equipment, materials, labour requirements, and profitability.
The Fabrication Shop Manager will have the responsibility to establish specific annual objectives to direct reports, identify training requirements, and employee development. The Fabrication Shop Manager will also liaise closely with HR on various complex issues regarding site personnel as they arise and all recruitment activities.
Who are you?
You come from a shop background and previous experience as a Shop Manager would be considered an asset.
You have demonstrated competence in the areas of workplace planning, people management, performance and development for employees, safety, and management of project execution, cost control, and quality.
You are a Ticketed Journeyman that has exceptional leadership and communication skills along with strong analytical skills and decision- making ability. Having your CWB Welding Inspector Level 1 and Red Seal Fabricator or Welder would be considered as an asset.
