Overview
The Fabrication Welder performs a wide range of fabrication techniques and processes in the service of providing custom, quality precision metal fabrications, machining, mechanical assemblies, and integration for off- and onsite projects. This position also assists other maintenance personnel when required. .
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
Assist with weld repairs and asset fabrication on and off site.
Document repair and fabrication projects and track time in accordance with department procedures.
Comply with company safety policies.
Attend monthly, mandatory safety meetings.
Report immediately any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
Properly maintain equipment, including service trucks and trailers, safety equipment, and tools.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year of welding experience, including the use of arc, Mig and stick welders, plasma cutters and acetylene equipment or completion of an accredited trade school program
Ability to read prints and fabrication drawings (structural)
Experience with Mig (hard wire) and Stick welding
Experience using a torch and grinder
Ability to be forklift certified
Tape measure experience to the 1/16th (ability will be tested during the interview process)
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status
Attention to detail
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or its equivalent
One-year of fabrication experience
One-year 1/16th tape measure experience
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
