Purpose of Job:
- The Fabricator / Facility Technician performs a variety of maintenance services including fabrication and commissioning of automated equipment, providing general preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, along with project goals and must be able to work efficiently in resolving urgent issues.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Fabricate and commission automated equipment
- Perform routine building and equipment inspections
- General familiarity with Pneumatics and Hydraulics
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Wear all required PPE while in plant.
- Work safely & ergonomically by following H&S policies.
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant.
- Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and the workplace regularly.
- Be alert for hazards.
Knowledge, Skills and Education:
- Working towards CWB certification considered an asset.
- Must have general knowledge of all related maintenance functions.
- Minimum of 3-5 years machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant required.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls.
- Must be self-motivated
- Eager to learn and to train others.
- Design, fabrication and commissioning of automated equipment.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset.
- Proactive problem solving approach focused on action.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
