We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our busy Fabrication/Machine Shop.

The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have excellent time management skills, and have the ability to collaborate with others in a manufacturing environment.

Must hard working and a quick learner.

We are looking for someone who can work within with all aspects of metal/machine fabrication. We are seeking someone who is as passionate about our projects as we are. This position will be responsible for knowing and practising safe working methods, and have a strong knowledge of shop practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, quality control and safety equipment.

Necessary Abilities:

Ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature.

Effective English reading and writing communication skills.

Ability to operate different tools, and troubleshoot equipment problems.

Ability to cut, fit and weld a variety of metals according to drawings and specifications.

Must be adaptable and resourceful and show initiative, dependability, and innovation.

Ability to work in a positive team environment, where every member of the team acts and feels part of a cohesive unit.

Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum direction.

Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe, professional and efficient manner.

Perform basic housekeeping of your work areas.

Read and interpret work orders.

Operate metal cleaning equipment such as grinders, deburrers and shotblasters to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other material.

Transport heavy raw materials and finished metal products manually or using hoists or other devices.

Understand metal and fastener types/grades.

Perform TIG welding on aluminium, metal and various gauges of stainless steel by hand.

Posess an analytical approach to problem solving and developing creative solutions to technical production issues.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines and schedules.

Ability to read and use high accuracy measuring tools.

Proceed with floor assembly according to design; assembling the machinery in a safe and proper order.

Maintain company confidentiality.

Must be flexible and aggressive in adapting to business changes.

Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a multi-discipline environment.

Must be willing to work flexible shifts and/or hours in response to work load

Additional Qualifications:

Background related to welding and fabrication.

Strong attention to detail.

Solid safety-related skills and knowledge.

Good communicator, both written and oral.

Physical expectations:

Exposure to welding fumes and byproducts.

Exposure to loud noise requiring hearing protection.

Regularly required to stand; walk; sit.

Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below waist

Occasionally lift and/or manipulate over 50 lbs. with assistance.

Ability to wear fully fitted respirator when required.

This is a full-time position with occasional optional and/or mandatory additional hours required.
