Overview

Fabricator / Welder Afternoon Shift (Monday-Thursday).

We are looking for a fabricator or welder to join our fabrication team. Reporting to the Fabrication Foreman, you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting/joining, welding and repairing complex and unique equipment in a safe and clean environment.

Uur afternoon shift is from 2.45 pm to 12.45am (Mon – Thurs). Hours are subject to change. OT is available.

Rate will be between $41.63/hr up to $45.24/hr for a red-seal rate and depending on experience. OT is paid double.

Responsibilities

  • Layout, advise, and plan sequence of operations based on engineering blueprints
  • Set up and operate welding equipment and fabricating machines
  • Build, weld, fit, repair and assemble components and equipment
  • Monitor accuracy and verify exactness to blueprints and/or specifications
  • Fabricate subassemblies and finished products to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Actively promote safe working practices, follow good manufacturing practices, and participate in continuous improvement
  • Keep a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensure that tools, equipment work areas are maintained in a clean, complete and safe condition
  • Assist with training other employees as required
  • Continual update of technical knowledge through education workshops and reviewing technical publications
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Journeyman Certification with Red Seal Endorsement preferred but 3th year Apprentice or valid welding ticket may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Fabrication environment
  • Experience working with structural steel and metal fabrication
  • Welding with 0.35 and 0.45 flex all position
  • Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipment issues with a practical and hands on approach
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material and assembly operations
  • Ability to set up and operate hand machine tools, welding equipment
  • Must be able to utilize precision measurement tools accurately and own proper working tools
  • Rigging is required
  • Must meet all Health and Safety standards and lift a minimum of 20kg
  • Must possess a valid passport and driver’s license
