JOB SUMMARY
Perform welding / fabrication and repair assignments of more than average or advanced complexity and scope to keep production processes, shop operations, and utilities functioning satisfactorily while maintaining all Quality and Safety measures.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fabricate complex custom production machinery per print, sample, and/or verbal instruction.
MIG, and stick welding with the ability to pass a weld test on each. Certification preferred but not required.
Read blueprints and create jigs and fixtures for weldments
Fabricate and install new equipment
Maintain machinery according to Preventative Maintenance Program
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
Troubleshoot equipment; isolate cause of problem
Install equipment including basic anchoring, rigging, conduit, plumbing, and electrical work.
Utilize safe work habits
Wear appropriate PPE
Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures
Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures
Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures
Work on assigned projects
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience using metal lathe, mill, and bandsaw
High School diploma or equivalent
3-5 years related experience
Background in fabrication, mechanical and electrical repair with use of shop tools
Forklift license
Ability to read, write and speak English preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to work overtime and shift work as required
Ability to use hand tools
Use measuring tape, calipers, hand grinder, level, and other common tools and instruments
Welding knowledge
Familiarity with basic mechanical and electrical work including using pipe threader and conduit bender.
Use MIG, and stick welders and set up for different materials.
Use bandsaw, plasma torch, oxy-acetylene cutting torch, and other common metalworking tools.
Operate forklift, scissor lift, man lift, and overhead crane.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Good vision required for safe operation of forklift
Standing up to 12 hours daily
Walking up to 12 hours daily
Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily
Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily
Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly
Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily
Assist where and when needed as required
Utilize recommended safe work habits and make use of all safety equipment provided
Assist with OJT (On Job Training) employees as needed
Travel less than 10%

Forklifts, scissor or bucket lifts.
Safety harness, LOTO equipment and any other safety equipment required by NOV, FGS, and OSHA.
Familiar with all components capable of production and storing energy so the interaction of these components as it pertains to the production equipment and safety can be maintained and operated in a safe and productive manner.
Ability to read precision gauges
Ability to use hand tools correctly and safely
Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required
Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations
