Overview
Vulcraft Canada, Inc, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently looking for a Fabricator Welder/Saw Operator to support our Western Grating Division at our Wetaskiwin plant.
This is a 6 month contract position with the possibility of extension.
Duties & Responsibilities
Demonstrate conduct consistent with Vulcraft Canada Inc.’s core values.
Weld with MIG welding process.
Communicate information during shift changes to ensure quality and production objectives are met.
Work collaboratively as a team member to achieve production goals.
Operate efficiently to reduce material losses and optimize production.
Use various tools including a band saw, hand grinder, or other manual and electric tools as required.
Accurately measure and mark the material for assembly / cutting / welding according to the plans.
Ensure quality standards are consistent with Vulcraft policy.
Interpret drawings, including weld symbols.
Work accurately with both the metric and imperial systems.
Use oxygen / acetylene torch and MIG welder.
Perform other duties as required by supervisor and/or management.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Experienced welder, preferably journeyman.
Previous experience in MIG welding process desired.
Able to or willing to learn, running of the forge welder.
Able to or willing to learn to operate CNC plasma machine.
Must be a self starter, highly motivated and be able to work effectively in a team.
Proven and strong commitment to safety of self and others.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Able to handle physical workload and lift up to 50 lbs.
Overhead Crane and forklift certified or willing to get certified.
Able to or willing to learn maintenance tasks in the plant.
Must have basic to advance math skills.
Experience with using a band saw or willing to learn.
Flexibility to work different shifts and or overtime to support operational demands.
Must be able to read and interpret structural plans and welding drawings.
