Job Title: Fabricator/MIG Welder, Tech 3
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
SUMMARY: Fabricate and weld (MIG welding) metal products according to Environmental Composites’ written or oral specification and/or drawings. Fabricate fiberglass products according to Environmental Composites’ written or oral specification and/or drawings. Assist Production Supervisor with various oversight functions. – *Must have several years’ experience in welding and fiberglass* – Supervisory experience a plus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production:
1. MIG welding according to specification for various metal products – must be able to pass a welder qualification test to be hired
2. Fabricate general and custom/nonstandard metal and fiberglass products using drawings, diagrams, and/or instructions
3. Performs setup and layout for all pieces of equipment
4. Operates manufacturing machinery and tools to assist in fabricating products
a. – e.g., drills, wrenches, saws, iron worker, drill press and all other pieces of equipment as needed for fabrication
5. Assembles parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, adhesives, or other fasteners
6. Partially disassembles products for shipping
7. Assemble wooden pallets for shipping
8. Operates Forklift
9. Moves material for storage, staging, or other purposes using handcart, forklift, manual handling, or other means
10. Loads and unloads trucks
Qualification Requirement:
*Must pass the AWS D1.1 2022 welder qualification test for production welding – 2F and 3F, qualified by plate tests, within 30 days of employment*
*FL Driver’s License Required*
Maintenance/Housekeeping:
1. Assists in grounds maintenance of facility. Operates building and grounds maintenance equipment as directed by supervisor.
2. Keeps facility (shop, break room, restroom & yard area) in good, clutter free condition by putting tools, equipment, supplies & material back in proper space when finished with them. Cleans up after self. Performs other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.
Miscellaneous:
1. Adheres to company policy and procedures
2. Mentors and trains staff to help them grow their skills
3. Performs additional duties/tasks assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Mathematical – Ability to perform basic mathematical functions using addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and fractions.
Technical Skills – Ability to read and understand simple drawings used in fabricating products. Capable of safely and effectively using tools such as, wrenches, drills, chop saw, etc. Ability to read tape measure. Demonstrates ability to work with and execute general job processes.
Communication – Ability to write clearly & legibly. Ability to read and/or comprehend and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Physical – Ability to lift up to 120lbs. Ability to work under Florida’s hot weather conditions, lifting frequently throughout the day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle items, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 120 lbs.

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
