Our AdvanTec Manufacturing Canada facility is looking for several experienced and energetic Fabricators to join our Windows Department in Chilliwack, BC.
The Fabricator is responsible for reading and analyzing blueprints and engineering drawings to correspond with the required metal cuts. The Fabricator will be required to use a variety of light and heavy machinery to make the necessary cuts and to assemble the fabricated components into complete units. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Essential functions for this role are:

  • Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to assess materials needed and plan the sequence of tasks to fabricate products.
  • Operate light machinery, including grinders, sanders, cordless drills, and a variation of saws.
  • Install fabricated components in the final product.
  • Monitor quality of fabrication.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and SOP’s.
  • Work in accordance with documented procedures and complete all applicable records
  • Other duties as required.

For all levels of Fabricator:

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Manual dexterity
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Basic math skills

Fabricator 1 & 2 levels:

  • Basic knowledge of fabrication

Fabricator 3, 4 & 5 levels:

  • Advanced knowledge of fabrication
  • Basic welding knowledge and skills
  • Basic knowledge of rigging and overhead cranes

For all levels of Fabricator:

  • High school education or GED equivalent
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Forklift operator certification considered an asset

Fabricator 1 level:

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a related field.

Fabricator 2 level:

  • 4-7 years’ experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field
  • Welding aluminum, steel mig/tig an asset
  • Level C ticket an asset

Fabricator 3 level:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in related field
  • Red Seal Certification in fabrication an asset or in pursuit of

Fabricator 4 level:

  • 10-15 years’ experience in related field
  • Red Seal Certification in fabrication
  • Final assembly skills an asset

Fabricator 5 level:

  • 15+ years’ experience in related field
  • Red Seal in fabrication
  • Final assembly skills an asset
