PK Metal Works is a well-established Metal fabrication shop that has been in business for the past 20 years.
We supply our employees with all the proper materials and shop supplies such as coveralls, gloves, safety glasses and have a fully stocked storeroom. The Miscellaneous Metals Installer/Field Welder is responsible to autonomously install all miscellaneous metals/small produced in the shop. He is to provide guidance and supervision for an assistant when required. The installer should be able to layout and define requirements for installs such as railings, simple beam lines, canopies, HVAC openings, gates, etc. It is the responsibility of the installer to keep the field truck organized, stocked, and maintained for service.
– Operate Welding vehicles in a professional courteous manner.
– Performs field welding (Tack, MIG, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW).
– Perform layout prior to installation
– Safely work with various lifting equipment during installs.
– Insure all products are plumb square and straight when installing.
– Identify problems and co-ordinate solutions with the field coordinator
– Manage installation times and schedule to insure customer satisfaction.
– Define job requirements and communicate them with the field coordinator
– Insure that we arrive on site with all of the correct tools, materials and sundry supplies required to complete the job

Other duties
– Assist in shop as labourer/Welder when installations are not ready
– Perform basic maintenance on field equipment
– Organizing and putting away all field tools for easy retrieval

Education required
– Grade 12 diploma with a minimum of Grade 11 Algebra or Trades Math,

Compensation negotiable, based on Experience. Full Time, Days, 40 Hrs. per Week
