Field / Shop Welder Fitter (FT)

BGL Contractors is a multi-trade contractor with projects in the commercial, industrial, water, and wastewater fields. Our head office is in Waterloo, ON but we have projects located all over Ontario. We offer many benefits including a flexible benefits plan, RRSP matching, and a gym membership.

We are currently looking for full-time Field and Shop Welders to join our team. All applicants should be willing to travel to projects across Ontario. This may be an out-of-town position with accommodation provided.

Most of the work is on stainless steel pipes. The basic duties are material preparation, welding, fabrication of stainless steel and mild steel pipe in the shop and or Field.

Qualifications:
Must have stainless welding experience.

At least two years of experience in fabricating and welding is preferred.

TSSA 6G.

CWB SMAW All position.

Self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision.

Good reading, writing, and math skills.

Able to operate tools, machinery, and vehicles safely.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Experience with sanitary welding is an asset.

Experience with water and wastewater treatments plants is an asset.

Some of the job duties are:
Read drawings and follow instructions at various levels of detail.

Basic fabrication: cut, grind, drill, and fit-up.

Welding: primarily GTAW stainless and SMAW but GMAW, and FCAW experience is an asset.

Keep a clean and organized work area.

Wage can be discussed in the interview and is based on experience.
