Position Summary
The Field Welder Fitter will work primarily on construction sites. The Field Welder Fitter needs to be able to follow instruction and produce consistent, reliable, leak-tight quality welds.
Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to blueprint specifications.
Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Perform manual welding operations using FCAW/GMAW.
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Qualifications
HS Diploma / GED
1+ year of welding experience
Technical Skills: Fabricating, Grinding, Torching, Arc Welding, Blue Print reading, Mathematics
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to spend up to 8 hours walking and standing.
Ability to travel up to 75%
