Being able to travel each week, our Field Service Leads get a behind the scenes look at some of the biggest and best companies in the nation while installing the highest quality engineered fall protection solutions. Peak Fall Protection is looking for those who are easily adaptable to changing site locations and conditions as well as able to think quickly on their feet to problem solve. The Field Welder position consists of meeting demands and completing work orders in a timely manner; fabricating, welding, inspecting, and installing steel components; interpreting plans and coordinating with site contacts; and maintaining a safe work environment for 2-3 person team. This position is for full-time employment with opportunity for overtime as necessary to complete projects. Regular weekly travel is required, Monday through Friday (meal per diem and hotel provided). Essential Functions

· Assess site conditions to determine the process required to complete the installation

· SMAW (Stick) welding in the field

· Coordinate with management and other trades to complete projects accurately and efficiently

· Fabricate and install safety products using standardized practices and methods

· Compare actual site conditions to engineered drawings for discrepancies and communicate any issues back to Project Manager

· Work, in a team effort, with Team Lead and Project Management

· Assists other personnel as required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work.

Job Requirements / Competencies

· SMAW (Stick) welding skills required

· Weld test is 3G & 4G V-Groove with backer, E7018, AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Welding Code

· Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities

· Utilize a variety of job-related equipment & tools

· Interest and ability to travel up to 95%

· Valid driver’s license and evidence of ability to insure

Working Environment

Job function requires the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; use of a fall protection harness and equipment; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Must be able to carry items that weigh up to 50-lbs, climb ladders, operate and use all necessary tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment, and able to be on your feet for 10+ hours a day. The job is performed under some temperature variations and some hazardous conditions. This position is always in a new environment and attention to detail to practice safe working techniques is required.

Position Type / Expected Work Hours

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position does often have to adjust daily working hours to meet the demands of the client’s location. You will be required to travel up to 95% of the time. You will be required to travel all 50 states as necessary.

Required Education & Experience

· Experience with welding SMAW (stick welding)

· Experienced with iron working tools: mag drills, port-a-band, etc.

· Experience with man lifts, fork lifts

· Able to lift 50 lb. loads repeatedly

· High School / Trade School graduate

· Field construction means and methods

· Interest and ability to travel up to 95%
