Puremetal Welding and Fabrication Ltd. is a custom metal fabricator that specializes in structural steel and other metal structures. We also take on custom projects to support our local businesses and entrepreneurs. We are based in Squamish BC, known as the Outdoor recreational capital of Canada. Ranked 3rd in the world for mountain biking with over 500km of trails and one of the world’s best climbing destinations. Our shop is located in the Squamish Valley and is steps away from the backcountry, you could literally walk down to the river and fish before or after your shift.

We are looking for a talented, detail orientated and self-motivated welder for the fabrication and installation of structural steel. You must be a team player with a creative mind that enjoys diversity and likes to be challenged as our clients are mostly high end, residential homes (with amazing views). This means a different project almost every day. We provide the welding rig to be driven to various sites and a team atmosphere to install steel beams and columns. Opportunity may be available to become team leader. This is a full-time position.

The Welder’s daily activities involve:

  • Safe work practices
  • Handling materials within the shop and outdoors as required manually or using cranes or other devices;
  • Use of basic hand tools and power hand tools (i.e. grinders, die grinder, wrench);
  • Cutting and grinding of various metals
  • Shop and Site Welding of various steel components
  • Installation of Steel Residential Structures and components
  • Assisting with the over sight of small teams
  • Shipping and Receiving

Qualifications:

  • C-level or equivalent required
  • CWB FCAW all position
  • FCAW Self Shielding experience
  • Ability to read Structural and Shop Drawings
  • Must also be safety conscious, reliable, punctual, show a willingness to learn, and be organized;
  • Tasks will involve physical labour, the use of tools, and heavy lifting;
  • Applicant must be willing to work in an industrial environment.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Have 2 years Field experience (or 3 years shop experience)
  • Air Brakes endorsement is an asset
  • Be committed to his/her safety and those of their coworkers;

What We Offer:

We are offering a competitive salary based upon experience and a comprehensive health and benefits plan after 3 months of service with the company. Vacation is 2 weeks paid per year, in addition, there is an opportunity for extra leave based on workload.

Requirements:

  • A reliable source of transportation as our office is not on a bus route
