Whitemud Ironworks Limited is the largest open shop commercial fabricator/erector in Western Canada. We are a fully integrated steel fabricator and erector that specializes in structural and miscellaneous steel projects in the commercial sector.
We are recognized as an industry leader. Due to our reputation, we have grown substantially over the past 25+ years with established offices and construction crews in BC and AB and three fabrication facilities across Alberta totaling over 400.000 square feet.

Whitemud Ironworks Limited is seeking highly skilled Field SMAW Welders with structural steel experience to complement our construction team based out of Edmonton, AB. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a change from project-based work to a long-term career.
The key duties of this position include:
- Read, understand and follow instruction drawings and weld procedures
- Weld structural and miscellaneous carbon steel using SMAW or FCAW all positions.
- Work at heights as required.
The ideal candidate :
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Comfortable working in outdoors in all weather conditions
- Work as part of a steel erection crew.
- Possesses a valid drivers license and a vehicle , and you are willing to travel to various job sites
- Certified journeyman welder, registered apprentice, or unticketed with relevant experience
- Possesses a valid CWB SMAW ticket
- Experience with structural steel erection
