Fitter Apprentice

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Fitter Apprentice, your role is critical to the reputation that Ebco has built for delivering world-class quality manufacturing. You will be learning about & working on fitting and fabricating to meet customer specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Technical Experience:

Must-Haves:

· Grade 12 or equivalent

· Actively pursuing a Fitter / Fabricator Trade Certification

· Ability to learn to understand and interpret drawing tolerances and specifications

Assets:

· Ability to learn how to work with operating manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment, and shears

· Ability and interest in learning how to operate rolls & brake-presses, and a CNC burning machine

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside a Fabricator to accomplish the following:
  • Interpreting drawings, welding processes and welding specifications
  • Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Welding to customer specifications with supervision

o Operating welding equipment, oxy-fuel cutting, grinding

o Heat straightening

o Operating and handling overhead cranes and lifting equipment

o Working with Carbon and Stainless Steels and Aluminum

· Ability to learn welding procedures and quality control requirements

· Willingness to learn how to read, understand and interpret welding process specifications, welding symbols and blueprints

  • Initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods as well as lift up to 40-50 lbs
