Overview
In this role, you will report directly to the Fabrication Lead Hand and/or Foreman. You will be responsible for the fit up requirements of a job observing specific guidelines and tolerances. You will be responsible to review drawings and mark proper welding symbol after fit up for the welders.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment for fit up and detailing.
Accountable for reading and interpreting drawings to produce a product within specified tolerance.
Responsible for accomplishing the fit up requirements of a product weldment, as well as the design and construction of intricate jigs and fixtures.
Use safe working practices as directed.
Perform assigned tasks under the direction of the Lead hand, Coordinator, Foreman or Fabrication Manager.
Bring technical problems encountered to the Lead hand, Coordinator, Foreman, or Fabrication Manager.
Work to improve efficiency to achieve productivity and delivery goals.
Work at organizing and maintaining personal and company tools, equipment, and work area in a professional manner.
Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures and programs, including but not limited to the process map, support processes, safety and environmental requirements.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the fabrication manager.
Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience) :
At least 2 years in fabrication environment
Red Seal Journeyman Fitter Certification
Technical Requirements ( software or program knowledge needed )
Basic Computer knowledge
Competencies Required:
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, codes and specifications.
Familiarity operating and using welding machines
HSE Requirements (Training and Physical Requirements):
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds
Must be capable of repeated bending, stooping and squatting, and standing for prolonged period of time
Training on overhead crane operation
Must meet all physical demand of the job
Required to wear PPE
