Able to read and understand shop drawing

Use information from the drawing to layout components fromthe drawings

Fit-up columns, beam stairs, vertical braces, handrail, etc.

Tack weld sub-assemblies onto main assemblies

Manage from start to completion assigned projects

Work with team members to complete project

Keep drawings and details for each job in a locationavailable to the team

Be sure all welding machines are set up with properly andmonitor each team member’s quality and productivity.

Check material quantity and type for assigned jobs

Verify quality along with accuracy of each assigned job

Work with Shop manager to plan priority of assigned jobs

All welders, gas and machinery turned off at end of day

Skids and banding disposed of or stacked in proper place

Keep work area clean on an ongoing basis.


Must have at least 5 years of structural steel fittingexperience

Must have welding experience

Must pass a layout test on a typical column or beam
