Overview
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and/or work order specifications, make sure the right materials are on hand for the job, and get the machine ready for tasks like:
Program equipment
Places stops/guides according to criteria.
Using pneumatic tools, file tools, and other tools, design the optimum tip size to provide precise weld tolerances.
Adjust dyes, stamps, jigs, and other items to the right size as indicated by the blueprint or work order.
Starts the machine and performs a spot weld operation; when needed, performs machine maintenance.
Measures and inspects completed workpieces
Complete initial and continuous employee training programs
Skills and Qualifications:
GED, high school diploma, or similar job experience or training/education is required.
A solid mathematical background is required.
Prior spot welding experience is preferred.
You must comply with all safety policies and procedures established by the Company/OSHA, including but not limited to, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots; pursues safety initiatives in support of the Company’s vision of “zero accidents”; and maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
