Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The role of the Fitter/Welder or Painter works within a production team of 20 or more workers. The Fitter Welder position reports directly to the Welding Supervisor / Shop Forman. The painter position reports directly to the Coating Manager / Shop Forman. The successful candidate will have some experience in a fast paced custom steel fabrication setting. Blueprint reading skills is an asset. Knowledge of Weld Symbols is required for the welding position. A weld test will be completed during the interview process. The individual is responsible to maintain a safe and clean work area. You will be responsible to clock in and out of projects on a daily basis as accurately as possible.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, listening), problem solving, works well with others, task planning, attention to detail
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma is preferred
  • Some Welding/Fitting experience is required
  • Weld/Assemble parts accurately and efficiently to the Drawings/Instructions provided
  • Cleaning parts as required
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, continually adapting to change and work under pressure.
  • Possesses a good attitude and work in a team environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime if required
  • Ability to read a tape measure in both Imperial and Metric

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00-$31.00 per hour
