Overview
One of our Client in Mississauga is looking for an FCAW Code Welder you will be responsible for being proficient in the FCAW process to weld various components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
o Welds according to the company’s engineering specification on process piping,
equipment, and structural steel.
o Makes weld repairs according to Strobel’s engineering specs on piping, valves,
towers, tanks, exchangers, compressors, fin fans, furnaces, etc.
o Demonstrates knowledge of rig piping, machinery, and equipment according to
OSHA standards.
o Performs pipefitting work on piping (i.e., screwed, and welded pipe).
o Demonstrates ability to interpret material safety data sheets (MSDSs), hazardous
material identification system (HMIS), environmental safety and maintenance
instructions.
o Maintain safe and clean work environment.
o Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:
o Must be able to weld qualification test coupon for.
o FCAW and/or GMAW welding process in the 3G & 4G position using Carbon Steel plate.
o SMAW and GTAW welding processes in the 6G position with Carbon and/or Stainless-
Steel pipe.
o Positive “can do” attitude & strong work ethic.
o Demonstrated ability in quality X-Ray welds on process piping using GTAW and
SMAW welding procedures is required.
o Experience fabricating piping from CAD or Blueprint drawings required.
o Must be able to complete tests using approved welding procedures in accordance
with A.S.M.E. Section IX, B 31.2 required.
o Ability to complete all tests in the 6G position required.
o Ability to take detailed instruction.
o Willing to be challenged to improve welding skills to meet high quality standards.
o Must be able to read & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and
structural drawings.
o Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
o Must be able to use Oxy/fuel & Plasma hand cutting torch.
o Daily housekeeping of shop and/or work area.
o Flexible working schedule to support project needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Salary: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
