Overview

We are seeking an experienced Crew Leader / Foreman- Metal Building System Erector, Iron worker/Steel Erector to fill a vacancy on our expanding crews. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient daily operation of a crew of 6 men engaging in the erection / construction of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings. This candidate will oversee, task plan and manage workers who will be participating in the installation of the steel structure, metal wall panels (cladding), roofing systems and various insulation. The right candidate for the position will possess a minimum of 5 years direct experience in the metal building field, with minimum 2 years experience as a foreman or manager in a construction environment.

Job Duties and responsibilities:

· Follow direction of general manager and site supervisors

· Monitor and report progress to GM

· Coordinate daily site activities with sub trades and GC

· Manage a crew of up to 10 individuals in a teamwork atmosphere

· Assign daily tasks to crew

· Maintain positive working environment among staff

· Completion of daily work reports / task planning

· Completion of daily safety paperwork and ensure adherence to company safety program

· Conduct health and safety meetings on site

· Identify safe work practices and correct and document all unsafe conditions and acts

· Basic daily individual safety paperwork (FLHAs)

· Follow all OH&S requirements as well as site specific safety regulations

· Work at heights from EWP & structure beyond EWP

· Identify all building components and applications

· Strong familiarity and capability with rigging techniques for steel erection

· Proficient in use of All Terrain Forklifts / Telehandlers

· Utilize crane to hoist and install structural and secondary steel

· Installation of various insulation for roof and wall applications

· Installation of standing seam roof panels

· Installation of metal wall cladding panels

· Installation of various trim components for cladding and roofing package

Qualification Requirements:

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Metal Building System Erection / Iron working

· Previous experience in a foreman / management role. (2 years+)

· Positive attitude, self-starter with the desire to achieve

· Ability to communicate, comprehend and relay verbal and written instructions to workers

· Ability to work in all types of weather for extended periods

· G class drivers license and own vehicle

· Understanding of current provincial legislation pertaining to provincial health and safety procedures and fairness practices

· Ability to work at heights for extended periods

· Basic work boots, hard hat and personal tools

· EWP, AT Forklift, First Aid, Working at Heights, WHIMIS (Supervisor courses and any other relevant training will be viewed favorably)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:

  • WAH certificate (preferred)
  • EWP or AT Forklift certificate (preferred)
