Why Work for Us
This position is based in the Fort McMurray, AB area on our IOL Kearl site. This is a nightshift turnaround position with a pre-turnaround schedule of 10 days on and 4 days off schedule, 10 hours a day and a turnaround schedule of 6 days on and 1 days off schedule, 12 hours a day. Flights are provided from Calgary and Edmonton and Camp accommodations are included.

Responsibilities
Consistently demonstrate proactive and visible safety leadership.
Participate in project planning as required.
Scope all jobs to be performed and advise client of any additional requirements (scaffolding, lifting requirements, risk assessments, specialized permits etc.).
Prioritize and direct work ensuring all codes of practice are adhered to.
Ensure all relevant safety codes, acts and regulations are followed in the course of work execution.
Spearhead continuous improvement programs that capture value created.
Work with client to troubleshoot and correct equipment and piping issues.
Ensure re-work is minimized and all work is carried out with high quality standards.
Ensure all company policies, procedures and practices are maintained.
Ensure all work is performed in an orderly efficient professional manner meeting all applicable codes, regulations and acts.
Report all incidents and near misses in a timely manner to Supervisor.
Ensure employee safety certifications are valid and arrange training for the maintenance of the same.
Keep Supervisor informed of any work, equipment, employee or other issues requiring attention.
Make recommendations to Supervisor as to employee recognition/ discipline.
Ensure all daily/weekly shift documentation is kept to date and forwarded to the appropriate parties.
Track and keep records of work performed.
Resolve employee, work or other issues and/or report the same to
Supervisor.
Be able to supply reporting (verbal or written) regarding progress, work load or other requested information to Supervisor/Manager.
Seek advice as required from Supervisor.
Maintain good cross shift relations (via communication, mutual respect, pass over of documentation, maintenance of office/vehicle housekeeping etc.).
Maintain good relations with other contractors on site.
Assist in lease clean up where necessary.
Working Conditions
Pre-turnaround shift: 10 on and 4 off, 10 hour days
Turnaround shift: 6 on and 1 off, 12 hour days
Overtime as required
Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
Working in and around noise and dust
Camp provided
CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
Qualifications
High school diploma
Certified Journeyman and/or Red Seal in Pipefitter or Welder Trade
Drug and Alcohol testing required
CSTS 2020
H2S
Valid driver’s license
Experience in shutdown/turnaround and maintenance environments
Evidence of exceptional leadership skills and ability to influence, mentor and coach
Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
Strong leadership capability as evidenced by demonstrable success in team / collaborative work environments
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities capable of handling pressure and challenges

Physical Requirements
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 25kg
Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
