Overview:

Web Direct Brands the owners of GateCrafters.com is looking for welders to construct semi-custom driveway gates from a provided jig at our facility in Odessa, FL. Our system increases production and allows our welders to significantly increase their pay over the base pay indicated. For the right candidates who are experienced production welders, there is opportunity to make $32.00 per hour on a regular basis! This is a full-time permanent position with a steady work flow year round. This is not a traveling position. Hours 4 Ten hours days, Monday through Saturday, preferred days are scheduled based on productivity.

Welders are bonused based on their productivity. here is an example of how welders are paid.

Welders are paid by comparing clocked hours including overtime to job tickets completed, job ticket credits are calculated on a basis that assumes actual time with a cushion, for instance if Tony can build an item in 4.2 hours, then we assign 6.3 hours to build this item. These times have been collected historically. (by the way, Tony is not a fast welder) Job ticket credits are totaled for all gates that are made weekly.

Job ticket bonuses are calculated for all job tickets within the pay period and are paid to welders that have not exceed 40 hours in their previous pay period. A bonus of $1/hr for job tickets credits over 50hrs/week, $2/hr for job tickets over 60hrs/week, or $3/hr for job tickets over 80hrs/week. These bonuses convert to dollars paid when they are above and beyond the hourly pay for actual time worked. See these 4 examples, all examples assume base pay is $13.00/hr:

Paul is new and he is working on his 3rd week, because he is new, he is slow. He produced 28.5 hours of piece work in his 40 hour shift. He is paid base pay X 40 or $520.0

Andy has been here a while and is picking up speed. He produced 53.5 hours of piece work in his 40.0 hours worked. His hourly rate is $13.00 X 40 totaling $520.00 . His job ticket credit is calculated at 13.00 + 1.00 bonus X 53.5 or 749.00 because job ticket credits are more than pay he will receive a bonus to his pay for a total of $520.00 plus a bonus of $229.00 totaling $749.00 or ($38,948.00 / year)

Kevin has been here for more than 6 months and has increasing speed. He produced 66.5 hours of piece work in his 40.0 hours worked. His hourly rate is $13.00 X 40 totaling $520.00 . His job ticket credit is calculated at 13.00 + 2.00 bonus X 66.5 or 864.50 because job ticket credits are more than pay he will receive a bonus to his pay for a total of or $520.00 plus a bonus of $477.50 totaling $997.50 or ($51,870.00 / year)

Michael has been here for more than 2 years and has good speed. He produced 81.5 hours of piece work in his 40.0 hours worked. His hourly rate is $13.00 X 40 totaling $520.00 . His job ticket credit is calculated at 13.00 + 3.00 bonus X 81.5 or 1304.00, because job ticket credits are more than pay he will receive a bonus to his pay for a total of or $520.00 plus a bonus of $784.00 totaling $1,304.00/week or ($67,808.00 / year)

All four guys worked 40 hours and you can see that experience and the ability to focus on the task greatly improves income.

We have a unique way on compensation for our welders. with over $500,000.00 in pending back orders we are quoting 16 week lead times and need to bring that down. Thought the years there have been many welders make 100 hours of gates in their normal 40 hour work week. If you are a focused go-getter you make lots of money, if you come to work to “play” Don’t bother.
