Overview
The Gas Certified Tech Welder is responsible for the routine maintenance and operation of the property-wide RCID Natural Gas Utility System. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.
Responsibilities :
Conduct system inspections to meet federal and state requirements
Routine inspection and maintenance of distribution system piping, valves, metering and pressure reducing stations, odorization equipment, and cathodic protection systems
Operate high-pressure natural gas utility systems
Ability to respond to system emergencies, locate lines, and conduct system leak surveys
Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
Basic Qualifications :
Valid Florida driver’s license
Possess the ability to interpret blueprints
Possess or the ability to obtain & maintain the API 1104 certification
Understanding of the RCID Natural Gas HPG/MPG Construction Standards 1100 -1400
Proven background in pipefitting and fabrication
Ability to complete required evaluations and testing for Gas Operator Qualification per D.O.T. requirements within one year
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
