Overview

Position Summary:

Since 1943 N.R. Murphy Ltd prides itself on being a people-oriented company focused on designing and manufacturing the highest quality of air pollution control equipment. N.R. Murphy is currently looking to hire a labourer as a part of its fabrication division. In this position, the successful applicant will work alongside the fabrication team to assist in various production and labour tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the fabrication department through a variety of production tasks, including saw cutting, grinding, punching and other various tasks.
  • Assist with preparing units for painting including installing hardware, caulking, and installing filter bags.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including material handling, racking steel, and utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts (willing to train).
  • Assist on service calls on an as needed basis.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other general labourer duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Punctuality must be on time for shift and be consistent with attendance.
  • Ability to read and use tape measure.
  • Ability to use hand tools (such as hammer, screw drivers, wrenches, etc).
  • Ability to work in a safe manner.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Experience with grinders, forklifts, cranes, hoists, shears, saws, irons workers, welders, plasma cutters or brake press is an asset. Willing to train on some.
  • Knowledge or experience with Dust Collection is an asset.
  • Willing to use a 10-ton Forklift, and ladders. Must be comfortable with heights.
  • Able to stand regularly and lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Other

  • 40 hours per week with possible overtime.
  • 7am – 4pm Monday – Thursday, 7am – 1pm Friday
  • Must bring your own: Steel-toed safety boots

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
