General Labour – Production Welder
Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Production Welder in our Windsor, Ontario Hot Stamping Facility. The Production Welder is responsible for manufacturing parts and assemblies as required to meet defined production schedules using MIG welding equipment. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of basic MIG weld theory, have strong teamwork skills, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Primary Responsibilities:
Safely operate MIG weld equipment with an understanding of required PPE
Apply manual MIG welds to meet customer standards of the product’s final stages
Production line work, such as reworking, packing, and sorting parts
Assist and provide support to press operators set up procedures
Support the maintenance, tooling, quality, and logistics departments
Perform quality checks and ensure product meets specifications
Utilize welding and grinding hand tools to supply parts & assemblies from jigs and fixtures
Maintain & improve housekeeping within work area
Other duties/ special projects assigned by the management team
Minimum Qualifications:
Welding course or CWB certified
Ability to meet quota and standards by performing repetitive tasks
Ability to stand for long periods of time/ lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
Able to work 3-shift model: Midnights, Days, Afternoons, and required OT
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience in the welding trade
Mechanically inclined
