Job Description
The GSE Mechanic Helper is responsible and reports to the GSE Lead and Facilities Supervisor. You must be able to perform general auto maintenance and repair of company vehicles, routine repairs of Ground Support Equipment under limited supervision. Be a team player with the ability to make independent decisions and or justify actions according to his/her job performance or duties. Must be punctual.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a variety of mechanical trade functions such as R&R of batteries, tires, and flat repairs.
Be able to locate and troubleshoot some minor automobile mechanical systems. ( starters, alternators, etc.)
Able to assist in the refueling of Ground Support Equipment
Perform minor tune-ups. (Changing of spark plugs, oil and oil filters, etc)
Able to move equipment, wash and lubricate
Maintain and store various tools in a serviceable condition
Adhere to safe maintenance and keep a clean workstation
Perform any duties that may be assigned by his/her lead or supervisor
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Maintain Mechanical abilities and be willing to learn any new mechanical systems required to maintain vehicles and or equipment. Operation of forklift, man lift, scissor lift, tug, fuel truck, golf cart, and a pick-up truck.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
SUPERVISION: Under immediate direction
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: Must be able to take direction; a moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with Employees/co-workers.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required.
