Overview

AECOM is hiring a Welder Journeyperson with B-Pressure to join our Suncor Fort Hills Maintenance Primary Extraction project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a regular, full-time position on a 7/7 shift schedule.

Welders join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment. Welders develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders, as well as clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch and welding parts together.

Responsibilities:

+ Weld parts together.

This is a fly-in/fly-out position and as such will be subject to the Government of Canada’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements: _

+ As per Federal guidelines, as of December 1st, 2021_ , anyone who is to board a charter flight must be able to provide proof of full vaccination (+14 days), please ensure you bring proof with you to the flight center and allow for at least 2 hours prior to flight departure.

_Conditions of Employment for this position are: _

1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company’s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM – O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

+ Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman

+ Alberta B-Pressure ticket or equivalent if from another province

+ Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

+ Aerial Work Platform

+ OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest or Fall Protection

+ OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space

+ Overhead Crane & Rigging

+ Driver’s License and a clean 5 year Driver’s Abstract

Journeyman

Preferred Qualifications

+ CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) – All position Stick ticket.

+ Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS 09 or CSTS 2020) Certification
