Job Posting: Heavy Duty Mechanic

G. Baumeister LTD. is hiring heavy duty mechanics to come and join our shop team.

Requirements:

Valid Class 5 licence with air brake endorsement/ driver’s abstract

Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade Certification

Minimum of 5 years experience is preferred

Must have CSO, H2S, First Aid Tickets

Experience in Heavy Equipment repairs, Commercial truck and trailer repairs would be an asset

Effective verbal and listening and written communication skills

Ability to understand and execute verbal and written directions

Safety orientated and focused

Prior experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Link belt, John Deere, Volvo, Western Star, Kenworth, Freightliner.

Team orientated

Pass pre-employment Drug/ Alcohol and fitness testing

Willing and able to work in cold weather

Willing to go to camp when needed

Willing to work shift work

Responsibilities:

Participate in workplace Safety

Work as a team

Diagnose, identify, and repair problems, faults, malfunctions in structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems in a safe manner

Maintain and repair vehicles including but not limited to earth moving equipment, various tractor trailer combinations, tracked equipment and light duty trucks and trailers.

Take direction from the shop manager/ Foreman

Use hand and power tools to repair and perform maintenance

Operate equipment safely and according to relevant legislation, policies, SJP’s

Ability to be flexible in duties

Ability to represent the Company in a polite, respectful, and professional manner

Salary: $28.00-$43.00 per hour
