Responsibilities:
Alta Equipment Company is seeking a Field Welder for the State of Florida. The primary responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to:

We are seeking an experienced technician with the ability to perform line boring and machining work at customer jobsites. The Field Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, designing, salvaging, and building-up equipment and/or components.

Essential Functions and Additional Responsibilities:
Repair and/or rebuild structurally failed or worn parts requiring welding process reconstruction

Work in adverse weather and other adverse shop and field situations presented by customer needs; accept all out-of-town assignments requiring overnight stays

Communicate orally and in writing information, instructions, and explanations to associates, customers, and management regarding conditions, problems, and recommendations

Safely operate company truck according to company standards, utilize company fuel card, operate laptop computer and company cell phone.

Interpret work orders, drawings, and blueprints

Plan and lay out work, utilizing basic knowledge of trigonometry and geometry

Mathematical knowledge and ability to convert imperial units to standard units

Knowledge of general line bore machining equipment

Ability to set up machines and run the machining job

Ensure that machined parts are within specified tolerances

Prepare service reports through E-service Tech

Plan and control cost of repair jobs

Maintain company equipment, keeping it in good, clean and orderly condition

Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency

Work safely at all times, adhering to all applicable safety policies and comply with all company policies, procedures and standards

Own and maintain required personal tools

Learn and use Alta OEMs, plus other manufacturers

Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned

Perform other duties as assigned

Work overtime as needed

Work within and promote corporate values

Qualifications:
Must also have basic knowledge of metallurgy and heating procedures for proper adhesion of parts and know proper use of cleaners and solvents as required.

Maintain current MSHA card if work area requires

Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned

Skills and Abilities:
Able to read and correctly interpret diagrams and blueprints.

Acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements, Appropriate manner, conduct and grooming to adhere to company policy.

Must have interpersonal skills and mechanical aptitude skills. Perform complex and innovative welding procedures.
