Ironwrights Inc. is a fast-growing company that provides millwrighting, welding, structural steel erections, metal fabrication and installation, and miscellaneous metal work in Canada from coast-to-coast. The team consists of highly skilled and professional tradespeople from the Quinte Region, dedicated to providing reliable, quality work to all clients.

Ironwrights Inc. is currently seeking experienced tradespeople qualified in and familiar with shopwork, welding (pipe welding preferred), and mechanical maintenance. The individuals in this position will be responsible for creating products by joining/fusing metal materials using a variety of techniques and installing or repairing mechanical parts according to technical plans.

What You’ll Do

· Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

· Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements of task

· Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

· Operate a variety of hand and power tools including power saws, calipers, clamps, manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, angle grinders, and other materials/equipment required in the assembly and installation process for equipment or machinery and/or welding process

· Repair machinery or other components by welding pieces and filling gaps

· Maintain equipment, test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

· Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts

· Move and align machinery and equipment using hoists, jacks, dollies, rollers, and trucks

· Dismantle machines using various tools, equipment, and techniques

· Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety policies and legislation

· Perform other activities as required

What We’re Looking For

· Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship or post-secondary program

· 1-5 years of experience in welding and/or millwrighting (other combinations of education and experience will also be considered)

· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

· Proficiency in operating electric, air, or manual tools

· Knowledge and application of all safety requirements, including use of Personal Protective Equipment

· Driver’s License with a clear driver’s abstract and access to reliable transportation

· Effective time-management skills with the ability to mentor/supervise others

· A high-degree of accuracy and attention-to-detail is required

The schedule generally consists of four 10-hour shifts, however depending on assignment and workload this schedule may need to be altered. A certain amount of flexibility is required as travel and overtime may be required.
