Job Summary

ATSCO is looking for a Welder/Fabricator to gouge, grind, and assemble repaired transformers. Candidate will be expected to perform welding assessment during the interview process. This position is in a non-climate-controlled environment and requires standing for the duration of the shift. Standard Hours and days are: Monday thru Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Use various tools to cut, grind and remove material to move transformer through the repair process. Upon completed repairs, reassemble the repaired and refurbished power system according to customer specifications in the work order. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform other duties as assigned. Other duties could include but not limited to: assisting team loading or offloading transformers, shop/yard maintenance, crane, forklift or hoist operation.

Requirements / Skills

  • Fabrication, grinding, cutting and removal of material background required
  • Knowledge and experience with MIG Welding, gouging and grinding
  • Experience working in a mechanical, fabrication or assembly type role
  • Adhere to and follow ATSCO safety standards and rules
  • Steel toed shoes required and not furnished by ATSCO
  • Able to lift at least 25 –50 lbs.
  • Position requires the following tool set to be brought to work each day and to interview: Welding Hood and leathers

Preference

  • Crane operation, forklift, hoist training and experience a plus
  • TIG/MIG Welding

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour
