Overview

The Instructor Assistant / Welder Helper position is to guide new and existing students in our welding programs with all the basics of welding, cutting, prep and fitting, while helping maintaining the facility and office cleanliness. The position reports directly to the evening shift Lead Instructor and assist that Lead Instructor to plan and assist teach the evening classes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years’ work experience in Welding, Fitting and Prep work

Hours:

  • 6:00pm to 11:00pm Monday – Thursday – 20 Hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist teaching students (as assigned by the Lead Instructor) welding basics in different positions SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW.
  • Assist teaching students (as assigned by the Lead Instructor) Oxy fuel, Plasma cutting basics.
  • Assist teaching students (as assigned by the Lead Instructor) to properly prep and fit plate and pipe basics.
  • Must help maintain the shop cleanliness – Sweeping, taking out trash, removing unusable materials,
  • Weekly cleaning of the office and restrooms.
  • And other tasks as assigned by the Lead Instructor.
  • Qualified applicants must be committed to student learning, integrating technology into the curriculum, and encouraging engaged scholars.
  • Assist in teaching assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
  • Assist the Lead Instructor in coaching / guidance to students when needed.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
